Six years after their last Eastern Conference Finals win, the Heat is on once again. After a back and forth game last night against the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat pulled ahead in the fourth quarter, leading them to the NBA Finals, where they will face the Los Angeles Lakers. 

Coming into game six of the Eastern Conference finals, the Heat  knew it was time to step up their game.

“I put that game on me. It’s not my teammates’ fault, it’s not my coaches’ fault — just me,” center and power forward for the Heat Bam Adebayo said in a press conference after the Heat lost in game five. 

With that attitude, Adebayo and his teammates were willing to give game six everything they had. Each player worked as a team the whole night. 

At the end of the first quarter, the Heat were up by six. Heading into the second half of the game, the Heat were up by two. During halftime, the Heat saw their mistakes. 

They were turning the ball over too many times, not playing defense to the best of their ability, and taking questionable shots instead of passing the ball to move the defense around like they normally do. Luckily, they quickly adjusted, something that the Celtics had trouble doing. 

The third quarter had the viewers on their feet as the score bounced back and forth, each team taking the lead at different times. 

Duncan Robinson and Andre Iguodala were hitting three pointers for the Heat, while Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker were on fire for the Celtics.

It was not until the fourth and final quarter that the Miami Heat stepped up and took the lead for the rest of the game. Working together on offense and showing determination on defense brought them closer to their victory. 

Of course, the Celtics continued to fight; however, the Heat controlled the fourth quarter until the very end. With a final score of 125 to 113, the Heat became Eastern Conference Champions for the first time since 2014.
