An apparent third assassination attempt on Former President Donald Trump was halted when officers from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man near a Trump rally with an unregistered firearm. The incident happened in the city of Coachella, near the famous music festival which Trump was attending at the time. The man arrested, Vem Miller, claims he had no intent to harm the president and that the charges against him are complete nonsense.
This latest incident comes at the end of a string of close calls. Starting with the attempted assassination of Trump in Butler, Pa. in June, security was tightened around the president. To this day, he is forced to have massive bulletproof glass around him when speaking in outdoor venues. Despite this, another close call happened last month when Ryan Routh attempted to kill the president while he was playing golf at his West Palm Beach golf course.
As election day closes in, the tensions and stakes of this election only continue to grow.
