Brooke’s September Picks
October 11, 2022
September marks the beginning of the best four months of the year. I love fall and everything that comes with it. I had several favorites last month and these are only five of them.
1. “Partner Track” on Netflix
This was everything I wanted and more in a TV show. It combined all of my favorite book tropes; a love triangle, a smart main character and an office romance with a New York City setting. Partner Track is not just a soapy drama, it shows the struggles that women and people of color face in the world of big law. Additionally, the show came out at the perfect time, it took place in the fall and winter, so it set me in the mood for the upcoming months.
2. Marshalls
While I have loved Marshalls throughout the whole year, the feeling was especially felt in September. The store brought all the fall clothes in, so it gave me an excuse to buy a bunch of sweaters I do not need without breaking the bank. Since Miami does not have any other seasons besides summer, I do not want to spend an excessive amount of money on fall clothes, so Marshalls allows me to have an affordable fall wardrobe. I will forever brag about the Splendid sweater that I got for $35 instead of $176.
3. Panera Iced Coffee
Panera Sip Club is extremely underrated. Every time I go, I feel like I am getting free coffee. At $10.99 a month, I can get a coffee every 20 minutes, every single day. Not only is it cheap, but the coffee actually tastes good. I get to sit in Panera doing homework with my practically free cup of coffee in hand.
4. Fall Aesthetic Edits on TikTok
Fall is the best season. It consists of pumpkins, rainy days, “Gilmore Girls,” sweaters, boots and of course, Halloween. Fall finally arrived on Sept. 22 and since then I have been scrolling through TikTok nonstop pretending that I will get the true fall experience. Miami does not experience “typical” autumn, so fall aesthetic edits are about as close as I will get.
5. “Folklore” by Taylor Swift
“Folklore” embodies everything fall. It is perfect for a rainy, angsty fall day. Not only does “Folklore” have the perfect trifecta- “Cardigan,” “Betty” and “August”- it consists of other amazing songs, such as “My Tears Ricochet” and “Mirrorball.” My most listened to Taylor Swift album changes by month and season and “Folklore” is always my principal September album.
