Take a chair and grab your friends. The CLEO (Creative Learning and Engagement Opportunities) Institute’s movie night is fast approaching and everyone is invited – admission and snacks are free of charge.
CLEO focuses on educating the community on environmental issues. The organization encourages people of all ages to join and get involved.
“[CLEO] is a non-profit organization designed to support climate change,” junior Jonathan Wang said. “Spread the word, spread awareness. We are looking for new people. It will be a lot of fun.”
This coming movie night will occur on October 12th from 6-10 pm, playing The Lorax. The movie is based a children’s book of the same by Dr. Seuss. In the story, the title character must “speak for the trees” against greed and help restore the environment.
“The Lorax gives a preview of what our future might be like in a fictional form,” Wang said.
During the screening, CLEO plans to recruit new members and explain the group’s mission to the audience.
