Senior Daniela Gomez has been selling vintage clothing items on Depop since early 2022.
“I use [earnings from Depop] to keep buying food and everyday essentials. It’s been a good side hustle for the amount of time I have been at it,” Gomez said.
Gomez also shared that the idea of reselling is not as simple as it sounds but in fact a cost-to-profit type of scenario.
“The [listing prices] are not what I really earn sometimes. For example, my customers usually pay shipping but if a package goes over the weight limit, then I would have to pay for it, so there wouldn’t be as much as a profit made,” Gomez said.
Aside from covering extra costs, Gomez added that reselling her once beloved belongings comes with the freedom of having her own money and the satisfaction of making her customers happy.
