On May 21, the witness testimonies ended in former President Donald Trump’s trial in New York. The witnesses who came to the stand on Trump’s behalf were lawyers Michael Cohen and Robert Costello.
In the trial, Trump had vowed to testify, although he never took the stand.
The witness portion of the trial is ending and will then move into the jury considerations. By the end of next week, the jury will hear the final points and make their choices.
The New York trial is based on the 34 felony counts due to false business records, which Trump had pleaded not guilty to. The allegation by prosecutors was that Trump had known about the negation of the settlement with Stormy Daniels, where she was told not to state her story until after the 2016 election. Daniels had testified in the court over a few days of the trial.
