Almost as if the world has gone back to 2023, Super Bowl LIX will take place on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 6:30 p.m. The Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs will go head-to-head. The Chiefs were the number one seed in their conference, but the Eagles clinched the number two seed spot in the National Football Conference.
This past Sunday, the NFC and American Football Conference championships were played to determine which two teams would continue to the Super Bowl. The Philadelphia Eagles went against the Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game.
Later that night, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills played in the AFC Championship game. To reach the Super Bowl, the Eagles beat the Commanders 55-23, while the Chiefs’ very own Patrick Mahomes scored a touchdown, two more scores rushing, and some key stops by the Kansas City defense that led the team to defeat the Buffalo Bills, 32-29.
While both teams are yet to hold a practice, early estimated injury reports are being released.
Experts are torn on who will take home the title at the end of Super Bowl LIX, but Philadelphia is currently the betting favorite.
One way or the other, history will be made after the game. Either the Chiefs will be the first team to win three Super Bowls in a row, or the Eagles will become the first team to win a Super Bowl “rematch” after losing the first game in 2023.
