September 18, 2019
Students slowly settle into their routine as the 2019-2020 school year commences. The beginning of the school year also marks the beginning of sports such as football, volleyball, golf, bowling, cross country and swimming. These teams have trained hard, preparing to defeat their rivals and win championships.
Off to a strong start, boys’ football and girls’ volleyball, have racked up many wins and continue to draw in big crowds.
But other teams must not be put aside, as the other sports teams at Palmetto guarantee a successful season.
Beating school after school, boys’ and girls’ golf seems to have a bright future ahead. According to junior Zach Oren, the team can guarantee a states appearance.
“We’ll place high this year. We have a really good team,” said Oren.
Off the golf field, a successful season for the bowling team means working hard to bring it home for the Panthers.
According to senior Rachel Salas, the team practices more than ever, working on their techniques and improving their teamwork.
“There’s a lot more to bowling than people think and it takes a lot of practice,” said Salas.
Since the summer, the cross country has trained, continuing to work hard for another state appearance this year.
Palmetto’s swim team has always made it to states and done extremely well over the years. This year, they continue to train towards a championship.
All the hard work that the athletes and coaches of every team put in guarantees big wins for Palmetto this season.
