As the holiday season nears, many long for homemade delicacies that provide an essence of cozy holiday vibes. These festive and mouth-watering treats create that holiday cheer one may long for.
A twist on the regular Rice Krispy Treats, these snacks make for the perfect Christmas-themed treat. In order to make this treat, bakers need: three tablespoons (42 grams) of salted butter diced into one-tablespoon pieces, one 10 ounce bag of mini marshmallows, green gel food coloring, six cups (170 grams) Rice Krispies cereal, white icing, 16 miniature Reese’s peanut butter cups unwrapped*, round red sprinkles, 16-star sprinkles or yellow mini M&Ms. Prep time takes about 45 minutes while cook time is 10.
A homemade holiday popcorn and the perfect sweet and savory snack all in one that only takes ten minutes to make: festive popcorn. This flavorful bowl calls for: half a cup (104 grams) of popcorn kernels, one 12 ounce bag of vanilla candy melts (ex. Wilton Candy Melts) and one and a half cups (75 grams) of broken pretzel pieces or baby pretzels (10 oz) bag. Bakers have the option to select between green and red Milk Chocolate or Mint M&Ms and Christmas sprinkles, in accordance with their personal preference.
This cute, sweet and creative snack guarantees a happy holiday celebration. This recipe requires one box of Betty Crocker Super Moist cake mix, one cup of Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy frosting, one sheet of wax paper, cookie sheets, three bags (12 ounces each) of white candy coating and paper lollipop sticks. When it comes time for decorating, bakers should have: orange candy-coated sunflower seeds, one bag (12 ounces) of blue candy coating, white sanding sugar, a black edible pen, blue mini candy-coated power mint candies, pink confetti sprinkles, black confetti sprinkles, jumbo snowflake sprinkles and toothpicks. In order to ease the decorating process, bakers should also use a block of white plastic craft foam.
These delicious snacks only require a few ingredients and a few steps including glazed donut holes, small pretzels for makeshift antlers, black icing as an adhesive for candy eyes and red icing to make the nose.
This coconut treat allows for creativity and fun in the kitchen by following these steps: pulse coconut, confectioners’ sugar and milk in a food processor until coconut is chopped, for each treat shape the coconut mix into a mouse-like figure, place sliced almonds as ears, licorice as a tail and chocolate chips for eyes (tip side down). The recipe calls for three cups of sweetened shredded coconut, two cups of confectioners’ sugar, ⅓ cup sweetened condensed milk, ¼ cup sliced almonds, two teaspoons of miniature semisweet chocolate chips and 38 two-inch pieces of black shoestring licorice.
