On Wed., Sept. 4, around 9:30 a.m., Barrow County officials received notice about a shooting on the campus of Apalachee High School in Winder, Ga., about 45 miles away from Atlanta.
The main suspect, 14-year-old student Colt Gray is set to be tried as an adult. It is reported that the school received threats about a school shooting earlier in the morning. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were both notified about the shooting, with Harris incorporating the tragedy into her address made later on Wednesday.
Students were cleared to leave the school around noon.
This shooting is the 432 shooting that the U.S. has endured this year.
