On May 7, a shooting occurred at the upscale GALA nightclub in Miami Beach, killing one man and injuring two women.

The first shots were reportedly heard from inside the nightclub around 4:00 a.m. The shooter remains unidentified by detectives.

The two injured women have yet to be publicly identified, but the police confirmed that the deceased man was 37-year-old rapper Lowell Grissom, also known as EveryBodyKnowsLo. Originally from California, Grissom has been involved in the music industry for 16 years and has worked with a variety of popular artists including Drake, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne.

The nightclub released a statement on Instagram soon after the shooting, offering condolences for the victims and their families and expressing support for the Miami Beach Police Department’s ongoing investigation.
