On Saturday, Palestinian forces from the Gaza Strip launched a surprise attack with over 3,000 rockets sent toward southern Israel. According to recent updates from the Israeli government, over 700 Israeli citizens have been killed, with more than 1,790 injured.
The attacks were launched on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, which signifies the end of the cycle of the Torah’s readings.
The Palestinian terrorist group, Hamas, has been abducting Israeli citizens, parading them throughout Israeli cities as seen on social media. Not much information has been found about the hostages, except that they are being taken into the Gaza Strip by the Palestinian militia. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later declared Israel was at war. This was followed by a post on Israel’s official Instagram, saying they would “make sure those who harm innocents pay a heavy price.”
