With an almost perfect record, the Palmetto girls’ golf team has been quite impressive.
Junior Kayla Campbell, the captain of the team, led the girls’ golf team to win GMAC (Greater Miami Athletic Competition), Districts, Regionals and placed second in the Youth Fair Championship by one stroke to Carrollton High School.
“We had a really good year, we got closer and even placed second in the Youth Fair Championship, which hadn’t been done in a while,” Campbell said.
Juniors Anja Dadesky and Kayla Campbell along with sophomores Jasleen Chin-Sang, Molly Barlow and Gabriella Montes (the top five girl golfers) went on to win fifteenth at the state competition in Ocala.
“The season had been a lot of fun, and that we went on to win all those tittles made it even greater,” Montes said.
The girls’ golf team, coached by Rosanna Karpiak, will continue their practices in the off-season, hoping to place within the top ten in states next year.
The girls’ golf team hopes to continue their streak and acquire more titles next season. With all its members returning next year, the team has a chance to continue their streak and dominate their competition in the 2011-2012 season.
