Miami NightGarden: The Stroll of a Lifetime
November 20, 2022
On Nov. 11, Fairchild’s Tropical Botanic Garden commenced the fourth annual Miami Night Garden Experience. With winter approaching, this serves as a perfect outdoor experience for family and friends.
The Miami Night Garden initially opened in October 2018 and since then, it has become an iconic location to visit every year around the holidays. Containing 23 acres of gardens, trails are decorated with technicolor flowers and sculptures, providing visitors with a magical experience. Touring the gardens can take around 60-90 minutes, and people of all ages are welcome.
Upon entering the park, there are various signs with QR codes and glowing headpieces to purchase. These QR codes take visitors to the NightGarden Fairyscope app, enhancing their adventure as they walk through the trails. Using the app, visitors can search and find the seven holographic fairies located within the NightGarden. This quest makes exploring the garden more exciting, especially for families with younger children.
“[The NightGarden] is just a beautiful experience for everybody. It is family oriented. It is a nice change of pace for the Miami nightlife,” Miami Night Garden Operations Manager Tom Davis said.
While strolling along the various trails at the NightGarden, visitors can witness everything Fairchild has to offer. In addition to various multi-colored lights and illuminations, modern motion-sensing technology is bound to make people feel as if they were part of another world.
Right after the first trail, visitors have the opportunity to meet the famous talking tree, Archie. Archie interacts with all guests who approach him and his clever jokes add some wit to anyone’s visit. Apart from Archie, various aspects of nature are highlighted, such as the field of butterfly light structures. The combination of the environment and colorful lights offers multiple Instagram-worthy photo opportunities for visitors to take with different parts of the garden.
Lasting until Jan. 8, 2023, tickets for the NightGarden are available here. The NightGarden will be open every week Thursday-Sunday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Sunday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“It is a great opportunity to come to one of the nation’s most beautiful gardens and in the evening time to get a different experience,” Davis said.
