On Oct. 24, Miami Palmetto Senior High’s Bowling team attended the annual Miami-Dade County district bowling competition, marking the end of the season. The team has practiced since the start of the school year, working to strengthen their skills and reach new goals from last year’s season.
Cheers roared amongst bowlers as the results of the competition at Bird Bowl were announced. For MPSH junior and bowler Evan Viener, the district was another walk in the park. Viener achieved first place individually at districts this year, following his perfect score from the State Bowling Competition in 2022. Viener will continue onto the 2023 State Bowling Competition, hoping to achieve his second perfect score.
Along with Viener’s top placing, MPSH junior and bowler Halle Meltzer gained an individual placing of fourth out of the entire county. Last season, the two Meltzer sisters, Halle and Maggie qualified for the statewide bowling competition. Halle now qualifies to return and continue on this legacy. Ultimately, the girl’s bowling team placed third overall in MDC.
