Tea becomes hot
November 26, 2013
The sun had barely risen, when the morning had already started on the wrong foot. Elizabeth slept past her alarm and ended up late for work on her first day at the attorney’s office. She hastily gets dressed and scurries to her car. The moment she arrives to the office, her boss sends her back out into the world to make a coffee run for everyone. She runs around the block to the nearest Starbucks and orders four espresso macchiatos, three cappuccinos, five vanilla spiced lattes, and three hazelnut Frappuccinos. After she receives her order, she hurries back to the office and hands everyone their order. Unfortunately, she spills one of the cappuccinos all over her boss’s crisp white shirt. She apologizes profusely, but he just sends a scathing look her way, quieting her down. As a punishment, he sends her to the dry cleaners to pick up his clothing and has to stay later to organize the case files. Finally, her boss lets her go at nine o’clock p.m. and as soon as she gets home, she kicks off her patent leather black pumps and changes into her silky pajamas. After making her way into the kitchen, she makes herself a cup of hot chamomile tea to soothe the stress of the work day. Elizabeth takes her mug to the couch and tries to relax while forgetting the day she had.
Tea calms the nerves and decreases even the worst forms of stress.
“Tea in general is relaxing and a tasty drink,” junior Hannah Richter said. “It makes you calmer and see the world a little more clearer.”
