GradBash is the time of year all seniors look forward to. First, it means the end of the year has arrived, and second, it is a time when all senior classes come together for an unforgettable day at Universal Orlando.
“[A highlight of GradBash] was that it was a nice experience to just be there and spend time with all your friends. [A lowlight would] be the super long wait lines, but when you’re with good company you’re usually not bothered that much by it because you’re there just talking with your friends through the wait,” Miami Palmetto Senior High senior Vasyl Romankiv said. “The main thing is just being there at the theme park, walking around, eating with all your friends.”
Though the lines were long, the enjoyment of the trip remained through the company of friends, making the trip worthwhile.
For senior Maddie Sakalo, a lowlight of GradBash included the long bus ride because it was hot, but she and her friends found a way to enjoy the ride.
“Gradbash was amazing. I loved going on all the rides with my friends, especially Hulk, and although the bus ride was brutally hot and long, it was really fun to play charades and talk for hours,” Sakalo said.
Both students highly recommend going because it is an experience like no other.
“I would recommend all future seniors to go to GradBash because it’s just part of the high school experience and something you have to go through. It’s pretty fun and you just get to go away from school and hang out with all your friends, go on some rides and go out to eat. It’s time away from school and generally a fun experience,” Romankiv said.
A recommendation for future seniors who will attend is to plan out your rides before the trip so you can find time to do as much as possible in the park.
“I would recommend everyone to go to GradBash because it feels like such an incredible end to senior year and really a full circle moment, especially as most of us went to Universal for our fifth grade trips,” Sakalo said.
