Top 5 things you missed this Miami Book Fair International

Attracting all young and die-heart readers, the Miami International Book Fair continued its annual November eight-day literary festival at the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College in downtown Miami. More than 600 authors from around the globe, from Argentina to Trinidad, took part in fair’s international Festival of Authors by participating in discussions, panels, specials events, and activities with local programs.
1. Street fair
This festive event contained a performance of Once Upon a Time Children Theater Show, live music, children’s activities, sizzling food and numerous books from different countries, such as India and Argentina.
2. How I met Jason Segel

Multitalented actor, writer and musician Jason Segel debuted his first trilogy book, “Nightmares!” on Saturday, November 22. “The book was pretty funny, especially with all the voices Jason Segel was doing,” Yang said.
“When he was taking questions one kid asked him which of the movies he’s starred in is his favorite. All the adults laughed and he said “My favorite movie that YOU’VE seen would be the Muppets. I thought that was funny.”
3. Who’s behind Babymouse Costume?
Senior Leemay Chen, President of Literary Society, voluntarily dressed up as a children book’s character, Babymouse, during the Street Fair event.”I wasn’t sure what type of costume I was going to be in. The costume had many layers and it was incredibly hot in there. It was difficult to coordinate, so it was great to have two friends help me get around,” Chen said. “I just wanted to have fun and try a new experience, it ended up being very rewarding. I feel like I brought a lot of joy to many kids and adults.”
4. Panther Paws print their presence at the Street Fair Event
Literary Society, the official book club of Palmetto, not only discusses books chosen from previous meetings, but also attend community service opportunities that arise, including attending author events and reading to children at Palmetto Elementary. “Volunteering at the book fair was more fun than I expected,” senior Rachel Davis said. I liked walking around with Leemay in character and seeing the kids faces when they saw her. It was cool to help out at an event that brings people together over love of reading.”
