On Saturday, April 6, former President Donald Trump held a fundraiser in Palm Beach, Fla. for his campaign in the upcoming election this November. The campaign, along with top officials with the Republican National Committee, announced that the fundraiser yielded a $50.5 million haul, breaking records for a single fundraising event—exceeding the $26 million President Joe Biden collected at a recent fundraiser in New York City, featuring fellow Democrats and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Trump’s “Inaugural Leadership Dinner” was held at the home of billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson. Admission to the event ranged from $250,000 per guest for the “host committee” to $824,600 per guest for the “Chairman”; an advantage for contributing to the top level was a seat at Trump’s dinner table. The night featured remarks from Trump, North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. The funds raised from the event will be divided and allocated towards the campaign, RNC, state Republican parties and the Save America PAC.
